Exploring Lille and Roubaix – a cultural study tour

The Study Tour included visits to La Malterie in Roubaix and ArtConnexion in Lille – both of which were focussed around regional artist practice and development. We also visited La Condition Publique an arts organisation based in Roubaix and housed in an ex-textile industrial site. The parallels with Leeds and Bradford in terms of their ex-industrial heritage, geographical-relationship and their current economic positions was striking.
